inGauge was selected by Comet Ridge to execute the two well appraisal program in their new tenement Mahalo North (ATP 2048). The program started with the vertical core well Mahalo North 1. Coring went smoothly with good recovery rates and high-quality coal. Within the 314m total depth of the well, approximately 9m of coal was intercepted. Mahalo North 2 was then drilled as a dual lateral intercept. The first lateral successfully intercepted Mahalo North 1 (the future production well) and continued to drill to 1735m, giving close to 1300m of lateral within the coal seams. A second lateral was then drilled to 1152m giving a total of almost 1900m inseam. This is a fantastic result for Comet Ridge and was executed without incident.

During the campaign, we utilised wireline coring, mixed casing strings (including 7″ fibreglass), geosteering and interception, sumpless drilling practices, and wireline MDT testing. As an engineering powerhouse, we can tailor the right solutions for your next campaign to get the data you need or the drilling accuracy you require to achieve your goals.

Thank you to all our Contractors who worked to deliver: Silver City Drilling, Schlumberger Wireline and Pathfinder, NOV Coring, WellPro Cementing, AMC Oil and Gas, and MPC Kinetic.

Gas Flaring at Carpentaria 1

Gas Flaring at Carpentaria 1

Empire today updated the market with images of the flare at Carpentaria 1. This is a particularly exciting time for Empire as years of work starts to show itself in gas to surface. Tom (inGauge Completion Engineer) is getting to be an expert with the inGuage drone, taking some fantastic images of the flare shining forth on site, as the sun sets over the vast expanse of the Empire acreage. Tom was quoted as saying that using the drone was the only way of keeping Kelvin out of the photos.
