John is a multi-skilled drilling professional with a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and approximately 20 years of diverse international drilling experience both on- and offshore in a variety of technically challenging and remote locations in countries across the Persian Gulf, North Africa, North Sea, South China Sea, Papua New Guinea and Australia.

He is equally comfortable working as either an office-based drilling engineer or rig-based engineer/drilling supervisor, with approximately 60% of career time spent in field-based positions, including several years as a senior drilling supervisor.

John is experienced in a range of drilling techniques including HPHT, horizontal and extended reach drilling, casing drilling, managed pressure, mud cap, underbalanced and air drilling, use of SBM drilling fluids, wireline, slickline, completions and well testing operations.

Dion has spent 21 years with service companies, in various roles in the petroleum industry. His roles have been directly involved with several operations including Cementing, Fracture & Acid Stimulation, Fluid Management, Sand Control, Coring, Drilling and Directional Drilling.

After 12 years with Halliburton, and a focus on downhole operations, Dion became a co-founder of Grizzly Energy Services as he saw the opportunity to help operators optimise their fluid and waste management. After starting as a dry hire company for fluid storage, the Fluid Management division grew to include Frac support, flowback, well testing, and vac hauling.

Dion’s’ strength is his ability to adapt and develop his technical and communication skills to complement working with customers, technical and operations staff alike.

His various roles included Petroleum Engineering SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) Integration Lead, SIMOPS Advisor, Operating Company Representative (OCR) for Petroleum Engineering and Fracture Stimulation, Minor Services Supervisor and Acted as Well Integrity Superintendent.

His career development has lead him to be proficient in a wide range of skills including, leadership, project/program management, managing large numbers of contractors/sub-contractors, SIMOPS, petroleum technical competencies, to be a cohesive team player, permit to work (PTW), operational safety, risk management, operational planning, cost analysis, continuous improvement, operational audits and environmental awareness.

In addition to his experience, Scott is highly motivated, forward thinking and returns exceptional drilling results for the client.

Scott’s supervisory and operational strengths include his high safety standards, good organisational skills, reliability, ability to prioritise and show initiative and his extensive overseas experience in remote areas.
