Project Kindy

inGauge is pleased to partner with Project Kindy, a small charity working with children in Africa.  inGauge provided funding for a well to be drilled to provide fresh water for a kindergarten and also to its associated village community.  This was one of four well drilled by Project Kindy and the fresh water makes a huge difference, especially to the women and children of the community who previously had to undertake a long and unsafe walk many kilometres to get water.

Comet Ridge – Mahalo North Appraisal Wells

Comet Ridge – Mahalo North Appraisal Wells

inGauge was selected by Comet Ridge to execute the two well appraisal program in their new tenement Mahalo North (ATP 2048). The program started with the vertical core well Mahalo North 1. Coring went smoothly with good recovery rates and high-quality coal. Within the 314m total depth of the well, approximately 9m of coal was intercepted. Mahalo North 2 was then drilled as a dual lateral intercept. The first lateral successfully intercepted Mahalo North 1 (the future production well) and continued to drill to 1735m, giving close to 1300m of lateral within the coal seams. A second lateral was then drilled to 1152m giving a total of almost 1900m inseam. This is a fantastic result for Comet Ridge and was executed without incident.

During the campaign, we utilised wireline coring, mixed casing strings (including 7″ fibreglass), geosteering and interception, sumpless drilling practices, and wireline MDT testing. As an engineering powerhouse, we can tailor the right solutions for your next campaign to get the data you need or the drilling accuracy you require to achieve your goals.

Thank you to all our Contractors who worked to deliver: Silver City Drilling, Schlumberger Wireline and Pathfinder, NOV Coring, WellPro Cementing, AMC Oil and Gas, and MPC Kinetic.

inGauge Complete International Geothermal Producer Technical Review

inGauge Complete International Geothermal Producer Technical Review

In September 2021, InGauge Energy was contracted to perform a review of drilling and intervention operations, engineering planning and subsurface assessment practices and make recommendations to assist with cost reduction through improved efficiencies. Other considerations included developing an integrated plan such that contracting, well design, and interventions could assist in improved efficiencies and capture cost savings in 2022 and beyond.

inGauge was appointed to provide services to assist the client in a broad range of subsurface and well engineering consulting requirements. A technical health check was requested to identify gaps in current Geothermal practices, systems and processes when compared with Oil and Gas systems, practices and processes including the following areas in the project life cycle;

  • Subsurface appraisal
  • Engineering
  • Operations execution
  • Procurement Strategy

The aim of the review was to identify potential areas for a significant target unit cost reduction. The review was conducted to highlight project efficiency and cost reduction initiatives in the short, medium and long term to deliver the cost reduction target.

inGauge utilised a multidisciplinary inhouse team to conduct the review and is working with the operator in an ongoing partnership. The future collaboration will further analyse current practices whilst assisting with the implementation of initiatives to increase efficiency and drive down operational cost.

This is another example of a client taking advantage of our large team of in-house specialists, as we work across a diverse portfolio of projects, inGauge has the ability to deploy resources on an as required basis.

inGauge is proud to announce a 2 year agreement with Lakes Blue Energy

inGauge is proud to announce a 2 year agreement with Lakes Blue Energy

Lakes Oil N.L., the oldest Australian focused oil and gas exploration company, changed its name to Lakes Blue Energy N.L. in 2020 to better reflect its focus on producing cheap, clean, dispatchable energy from alternative sources (eg Hydrogen, waste heat, compressed air technologies, etc) beyond the traditional oil and gas space.

Its primary focus remains on producing the abundant volumes of gas that it has discovered across its Victorian portfolio whilst diversifying its interests across numerous jurisdictions to protect itself from further delays as a result of populist government actions. Over the past 25 years it has spent in excess of $100m across its exploration portfolio and has identified the, potentially, largest undeveloped gas resource across the east coast of Australia. Lakes’ Wombat Field has the potential to meet 10% of Victoria’s gas requirements once it is permitted to be brought into production.

Lakes has recently drilled, completed and tested the Nangwarry-1 well in South Australia resulting in the discovery of a significant CO2 resource to help meet the increasing CO2 demand across the east coast. Lakes’ goal is to become the largest onshore gas producer to help alleviate the rapidly approaching gas shortages which are expected to severely impact the east coast of Australia from 2023 onwards. Lakes has contracted inGauge Consulting Services to assist it with the planning, approval and execution of its exploration activities to help expediate its developments.

inGauge assists CTSCo to drill West Moonie 2, achieves all critical well objectives, on time and under budget

inGauge assists CTSCo to drill West Moonie 2, achieves all critical well objectives, on time and under budget

CTSCo’s West Moonie 2 well has been completed on time and below budget with all objectives achieved. inGauge managed the well design, preplanning and execution on behalf of CTSCo. The West Moonie 2 well was drilled to a total depth of 2,450m. The critical well evaluation was achieved including obtaining core and a complex wireline logging scope. West Moonie 2 is the second well in CTSCo’s carbon capture and storage project. The purpose of the project is to demonstrate the technical viability, integration and safe operation of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the Surat Basin.

We would like to thank our Senior Well Engineer Kieran MacKellar, as well as our dedicated OCR’s Wayne and Mick who worked tirelessly to make sure this project was a great success. We also would like to thank Darren and the rest of the CTSCo team for trusting inGauge once again to deliver what they need, safely and efficiently.

Glenaras Pilot Enhancement Programme

Glenaras Pilot Enhancement Programme

Beginning in February of 2021, inGauge oversaw the workover of ten wells including nine pump changeouts, perforating of 4 wells and data gathering from one for Galilee Energy. The wells were all located in the Glenaras Lateral Pilot area and were executed with rig contractor Wild Desert, Apex Pumps, and MPC Kinetic wireline services. So far the enhancement programme has been a success with pressure drawdown observed in the area resulting in an increase of natural gas rates close to 80 Mscfd. The data-gathering programme on Glenaras 08 also demonstrated a measurable pressure drawdown 7km away from the pilot area indicating a significant lateral reach of the pilot area.

The completions programme was a dynamic environment with a review of each well’s production within days of changeout. This created a feedback loop that led to optimising completion designs during the execution of the programme. Fortunately, Dylan Shaw our Well Engineer, was able to quickly adapt and ensure smooth operations. He was also invited to work several days a week in the Galilee office’s and was welcomed as part of the team.

Thank you to Wild Desert, Apex Pumps, MPC Kinetic wireline services and our OCR Ray Kirby for conducting all operations with zero HSE incidents. We couldn’t have had a better team for the job.
